Herman Katz Welcomes Two Recent Law Graduates to Support Legal Team

Herman Katz is pleased to announce the hiring of two recent law school graduates, Natalie McIntosh and Piero Saune Casas, who are currently awaiting results from the July 2025 New York State Bar Examination. In the interim, both will assist the firm’s attorneys across a range of legal matters.

Natalie McIntosh earned her Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of the New York Real Property Law Journal and oversaw the publication’s student blog. Natalie is the recipient of the 2025 Mattone Family Institute Writing Competition for her paper “Why Can’t I Buy a Home?: Examining the Obstacles on the Path to Homeownership in New York.”

She previously worked as a summer law clerk at Herman Katz, supporting the firm’s attorneys through legal research and memorandum drafting. Natalie holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, with minors in Pre-law and Music.

Piero Saune Casas, originally from Lima, Peru, is a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law and holds a B.A. in Political Science from Manhattanville College, where he graduated cum laude. At St. John’s, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the New York Real Property Law Journal, and was active in several student organizations, including the Real Property Law Society and Latin American Law Students Association. He was also named a Real Estate Fellow of the Mattone Family Institute for Real Estate Law.

Piero has been published multiple times in New York State Bar Association journals and will serve as Co-Chair of Publications for its Commercial & Federal Litigation Section. His prior legal experience includes roles at the New York Attorney General’s Office, a publicly traded REIT, a property management firm, and a mid-sized Long Island law firm.

“We are excited to welcome Natalie and Piero to the firm,” said Jay M. Herman, Senior Partner at Herman Katz. “Both bring strong academic backgrounds, legal experience, and a clear passion for real estate and property law. We look forward to the energy and insight they’ll contribute as they begin their legal careers.”
